You probably think," it's
over 40 years old" so there is no hope for it. Well with the price of new
counters getting sky high and the possible need for one may be getting closer,
( because nuclear waste is getting transported across our country ) you should
read on.
A hobby of mine is restoring and upgrading old radiation detectors of the Scintillator type. Over the years I encountered people that had a counter that was not working and they said that they were told that repairing it was impossible because the vacuum tubes were not available, and the batteries were too expensive.
Since I don't recognize the word "impossible" I put my 40 years of experience in solving problems to work, and came up with an inexpensive way to get your counter working.
